The Carry On Laughing TV clipfest had been running for several years and had, to some extent, given the films a new lease of life. Thus, it was decided that a festive edition would be a sure ratings winner and Kenneth Williams and Barbara Windsor were lured into the studio to provide a series of links between the film clips, each illustrated by a card on a Christmas tree. Running at a paltry 24 minutes, this is by no means a classic but it remains an important part of Carry On history as it did feature Kenneth's final performance in their service.
